Intercultural Communication

IFM, ISY and MAI invite you to a lecture/colloquium on:

Intercultural Concerns and Pedagogical Implications

What aspects do we, as teachers, need take into consideration when interacting with international students? How do we make ourselves understood and how do we try to understand those from a different cultural setting? Are there things we need to be very careful about doing (or not doing) in our dealings with international students? What are some of their likely experiences and/or assumptions when they interact with us as teachers? What pedagogical concerns arise in teaching situations involving groups from a mixture of cultural and linguistic backgrounds? These are some of the questions which will be addressed and discussed in this seminar.
